Construction of Novo-Ziminskaya Thermal Power Station was started in 1972 as a division of Ziminsky Chemical Plant. In 1973 TPS top priority engineering design was executed (it was designed for 240 mW). Thus, industrial operation of the station began. In 1985, Novo-Ziminskaya Thermal Power Station was incorporated in the structure of Irkutsk power supply system.
The thermal power station supplies heat to the construction site of the principle consumer - JSC Sayankhimprom, and also to the population of Sayansk, enterprises of the agricultural complex and simultaneously develops the electric power, which is received in Irkutskenergo system. The installed electric capacity of the station equals 240 MW; thermal capacity amounts to 915 Gcal/hr.
664 people work for the station.
