En+ Group to launch the Energy of the Future educational project
En+ Group, a leading Russia-based industrial group comprising companies in the energy, mining and metals industries, has announced the launch of the Energy of the Future educational project. As part of the project, sessions on the technologies of the future will take place in Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk; they will include lectures by leading experts.
En+ Group is launching the Energy of the Future project in partnership with the corporate university of EuroSibEnergo. As part of the project, educational sessions on the technologies of the future will take place at Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU). Speakers will include well-known experts: researchers, executives of industrial companies and other specialists in technology.
The first session is scheduled for October 3, 2016; it will focus on the energy industry of the future. In the exhibition hall of the INRTU science park, Mikhail Kozlov, an expert on renewable energy and innovations in the energy industry, will outline the global development trends in the energy industry, while Artem Oganov, a specialist in crystallography and materials science, professor at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and the State University of New York, head of laboratory at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, will give a talk on new materials in the energy industry. Oleg Prichko, CEO of Irkutskenergo, will describe practical applications of innovations in the energy industry, while the moderator of the session, a science-fiction writer Leonid Kaganov will give an overview of how science-fiction authors depicted the energy industry of the future in their works and which of their predictions have come true.
The Energy of the Future project is a contribution of En+ Group to the development of research and education in the company's regions of operation. Core assets and new projects of En+ Group are located in Eastern Siberia. Therefore, one of the top priorities of the project is to help to raise awareness of new technologies and development trends among students of power engineering universities in Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk.
The next session will be held in Krasnoyarsk on November 24 and will focus on climate economics. The topics of the subsequent sessions will include the future of cloud technologies, new technologies in the coal industry and "green" economy.
