PJSC Irkutskenergo´s environmental management system successfully undergoes a compliance audit
Between September 28, 2015 and October 5, 2015, the Certification Association Russian Register conducted a scheduled compliance audit of the environmental management system (EMS) of PJSC Irkutskenergo to confirm its conformity with the requirements of the international ISO 14001:2004 standard and the GOST R 14001-2007 national standard.
As part of the compliance audit, a group of auditors from the Certification Association Russian Register carried out checks at departments of the executive directorate and branches of PJSC Irkutskenergo.
Experts from the Certification Association Russian Register pointed out that the environmental management system at PJSC Irkutskenergo was maintained in an operational condition, was developed in accordance with the continuous improvement principle and on the whole was effective and met the standards.
This means that certificates issued to the company in December 2014 based on the favorable outcome of the audit and confirming conformity of the company's environmental management system with the requirements of the international ISO 14001:2004 standard within the system of a certification body that is a member of the IAF and within the IQNet system, as well as with the requirements of the GOST R 14001-2007 national standard have been confirmed.
The key goal of the ISO 14001:2004 standard is to organize management and production processes in a way that would minimize the company's environmental impact. The main goal of the system is a shift from remediation to objective assessment of potential environmental risks and implementation of measures to prevent environmental damage and ensure environmental safety of the company's operations.
