A voluntary charitable campaign, “Become Father Christmas!”, takes place at EuroSibEnergo

In December 2014, all companies forming part of EuroSibEnergo Group run a charitable New Year campaign titled “Become Father Christmas! ” The Company’s employees carried out the wishes of children from foster homes, special schools, orphanages, social care institutions and low-income families for the fourth consecutive year. Hundreds of children from various Russian cities and towns received presents from “Father Christmases” working in the energy industry.

Letters had been received from children from the Moscow and Irkutsk Regions, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Nizhny Novgorod and Miass, telling about their New Year dreams. Girls dreamt of dolls, dresses for their graduation party, make-up, travel bags, while boys wanted to get radio-controlled toys, sports clothes, walkie-talkies, skis and skates. And this was only a small fraction of requests addressed to Father Christmas. The most touching letters were those from children from dysfunctional families, who wanted first and foremost to get something for their mom to help her with her household tasks, and only then asked for something for their brothers and sisters and for themselves. The latest book in the Kind Light series forming part of EuroSibEnergo’s library, Genka Pyzhov, the First Citizen of Bratsk, was an extra present.

Vyacheslav Solomin, CEO of OJSC EuroSibEnergo: “Our employees invariably are responsive to children’s requests, and undoubtedly this helps each of us become kinder and makes the forthcoming holiday more joyful. Together, we have succeeded in making the children happier, which makes us feel happier as well.”
