CHPP-11 in Usolye to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the launch of the first power unit on December 30

On December 30, CHPP-11 in Usolye will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the launch of the first power unit with a capacity of 25 MW, which was put into operation in 1959. 1962 saw the start of operation of the first stage of CHPP-11, whose electricity generating capacity totaled 100 MW; by 1986, construction of the fifth stage had been completed. Construction of the thermal power plant started in 1954 in accordance with the design prepared by the Leningrad department of the National State Design Institute Teploelektroproekt in order to provide support for performing a high-priority task of developing the chemical industry in Usolye-Sibirskoye. Construction work was performed by the Vostoktyazhstroy and Vostokzhilpromstroy trusts.

Today, CHPP-11 generates heat and electricity for industrial enterprises and households in Usolye-Sibirskoye and the Usolsky District. The installed electricity generating capacity of the power plant totals 350.3 MW, while its installed heat generating capacity amounts to 1,285 GCal/h. The power plant employs 695 people. In June 2006, a section of the heating network was incorporated into CHPP-11. Its main function is to transport hot water from heat generating facilities at CHPP-11 to consumers (residential buildings and community infrastructure and facilities in Usolye-Sibirskoye and the Belorechensky, Malta and Sosnovka municipalities, the town’s industrial enterprises and the agricultural complex in the villages of Belorechensky and Sosnovka). In May 2013, a railway workshop (the Khimicheskaya railway station) was incorporated into CHPP-11.

Since the start of operation of the power plant it has been maintained by a team of enthusiasts who make every effort and use all their expertise to ensure reliable and smooth energy supply to consumers. CHPP-11 in Irkutsk can be rightfully considered a source of talent for the country’s energy industry. CHPP-11 has a potential developed by the previous generations; its employees remember those who worked at the power plant in the past, which means that today the enterprise is capable of new achievements and successes.

At an official meeting on December 20, 2014, many of the employees of CHPP-11 received certificates of appreciation and commendations for their hard work and a high level of professionalism.
