EuroSibEnergo Group holds a number of traditional educational and environmental events to mark the World Water Day

EuroSibEnergo Group held a number of traditional educational and environmental events to mark the World Water Day.

Thus, Irkutskenergo participated in creating the prize fund of the XVIII inter-regional training conference “Exploring the Nature of Eastern Siberia”, which was held on March 24 and 25 in Irkutsk. The event is aimed at developing the children’s creativity, improving research work at schools and continuing education institutions, as well as fostering scientific thinking. The conference was divided into several sections which included social and aquatic ecology.

On March 22, an annual children’s environmental conference on current environmental issues of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was held at the Krasnoyarskaya HPP. Several dozens of primary and senior pupils presented the results of their research on the HPP’s environmental impact to a panel of experts. Young scientists drew the conclusion that the residents of Krasnoyarsk and Divnogorsk drink pure and soft water. Such events have been held at the HPP for several consecutive years with the support of EuroSibEnergo and the management of the Krasnoyarskaya HPP. Young ecologists from Divnogorsk take samples of water from the reservoir and conduct laboratory tests under the supervision of the HPP specialists. The results of the research form the basis for children’s environmental projects.

Besides, as part of the Water Day celebrations, OJSC EnSer assisted in holding an open municipal research contest to mark the anniversary of the academician V.I. Vernadsky. Over three dozens of schoolchildren and students from Miass city district and the Chebarkulsky District took part in the contest. OJSC EnSer prepared prizes and presents not only for the winners and runners-up, but for all contestants.

Evgeny Fedorov, CEO of OJSC EuroSibEnergo: “I am glad that such events have become traditional. Promoting a responsible attitude to water resources among children and the general public, increasing the awareness of the importance of water and aquatic ecology is a vital task both for power engineers and for others.”
