Works under the Program for removing the limitations and increasing the installed capacity of the power plant are completed at CHPP-9 of Irkutskenergo
At CHPP-9 of OJSC Irkutskenergo, works under the Program for removing the limitations and increasing the installed capacity of the power plant have been completed. When CHPP-9 was commissioned, its installed capacity totaled 500 MW; however, as consumers’ steam load has considerably decreased, lately the CHPP’s available capacity has amounted to only 328 MW.
The following works stipulated in the Program for removing the limitations have been carried out:
Overhaul of turbine units at st. No. 1, 5, 6 and increasing their nameplate capacity;
Construction of a new heating main No. 6 in Angarsk;
Overhaul of the turbine unit at st. No. 4 enabling to handle the heating load; Construction of a new boiler unit for the turbine unit at st. No. 4.
On December 19, 2012, the load at CHPP-9 of OJSC Irkutskenergo reached 540 MW for the first time, thus confirming the new level of installed and available capacity.
Evgeny Fedorov, CEO of OJSC EuroSibEnergo and OJSC Irkutskenergo: “Investments in this promising project have enabled us to ease the electricity shortage at the Angarsk industrial hub and connect additional heat generating capacities for supplying heating water taking into account the growing heat consumption in the city and the load transferred to CHPP-9 from CHPP-1 and CHPP-10.”
