Today OAO Irkutskenergo puts into operation heating main 6 from the CHPP 9 main building to the fixed bearing point № 470 of the heating main 2 of the CHPP 10

Today in Angarsk OAO Irkutskenergo puts into operation heating main 6 from the CHPP 9 main building to the fixed bearing point № 470 of the heating main 2 of the CHPP 10, which will improve the performance of the CHPP 9 due to the increased heat-extraction mode and removal of the existing limits on power output of the given power plant. Within the framework of the project, above-ground double pipelines (diameter = 1000 and 800 mm, length = 10.36 km) were assembled and installed. Special crossings of the East Siberian Railway and highways of federal and regional significance have been built. The project also included construction of a well equipped automatic pump station, including pump units produced by Grundfos. The cost of the construction ran to RUB 1.2 billion. After hydrostatic tests of the pipelines and individual tests of the equipment the heating main is put into operation for the integration test and performance adjustment. Currently the heating main is used for power supply of Angarsk. The company has been working on the project The Small South since 2007. The project consists of three main stages:
Stage 1 (completed) – reconstruction of the piping networks in Leninsky district, Irkutsk;
Stage 2 – construction of heating main 6 from the CHPP 9 main building to the fixed bearing point № 470 of the CHPP 10 heating main 2;
Stage 3 – construction of a heating main from the CHPP 10 to the boilerhouse of the Northern industrial centre in Irkutsk.
Besides, on the CHPP 9, new facilities were put into operation so as to change the coal-feeding process from the coal storage of Sector 1, CHPP 9. Accordingly, the current coal-feeding system from the coal storage was replaced by the fuel conveying system (which eliminates an intermediate link of the coal transportation in wagons). A transfer crane, which exceeded its useful life, has been discarded resulting in increased reliability of the power plant. In 2010, OOO Energoremzaschita started carrying out the project developed by the design institute OAO Sibirskyi Orgstroyproject. The contractor completed reconstruction works and construction of the underground galleries, assembled equipment of belt conveyors in the length of 545 linear metres with the capacity of 400 ton per hour. The construction cost totaled approximately RUB 120 million.

Evgeniy Fyodorov, CEO of OAO Irkutskenergo: “Heating main 6 enhances reliability of the heat supply of Angarsk, ensures further development of the city as it allows connection of the new power consumers. In the long run, it offers an opportunity to move to the third stage of the project The Small South with power supply of Irkutsk from the CHPP 10”.
