September 6 – Chekanovsky public heating system transferred for operation of OAO Irkutskenergo’s CHPP-6
September 6 – Chekanovsky (Bratsk) public heating system was transferred for operation of OAO Irkutskenergo’s CHPP-6. The length of Chekanovsky heating grid is 4,529 running metres, with 50 heat chambers. Previously, from 2004 to 2009, CHPP-6 had operated these grids during the heating season. In 2004–2009, CHPP-6 replaced approximately 600 running metres of the heating system, 20 units of valves. Vast experience of heating grids operation, as well as high qualification of CHPP-6 employees ensure that the grids will be properly maintained and that high-quality preparation for the heating season will be organised in Chekanovsky.
It should be noted that the project of relocation of Chekanovsky residents from the buffer area of Bratsk Aluminium Smelter is underway. With that view, a new district of 5,000 sqm of residential premises will be built in the centre of Bratsk.
Sergey Konoplev, director of CHPP-6: “For us, this is primarily a social project. Despite the prospects of relocation, city authorities and OAO Irkutskenergo consider it necessary to ensure uninterrupted provision of heat and hot water to the settlement’s residents”.
