In 2010 Sales of Ash-Slag Waste from Ash Disposal Areas of OAO Irkutskenergo Stations Totaled 1 Mln Tons

In 2010 sales of ash-slag waste from ash disposal areas of OAO Irkutskenergo stations by its subsidiary, ZAO Irkustkzoloprodukt, totaled 1 mln tons, which equals 58% of the annual volume of all company’s ash-slag waste. ZAO Irkutskzoloprodukt recovers ash-slag waste as the annual yield of coal burning products of ash disposal areas CHPP-9, CHPP-6, N-3 CHPP and returns this valuable secondary resource to the region as affordable materials for construction industry (ash-slag waste is used in production of cement and concrete). Thus, the Company contributes into the reduction of consumption of natural resources. In addition, in May ZAO Irkutskzoloprodukt plans to launch its first batch of chemically bonded sand based at the ash-slag waste which is internationally used as a substitute to filler material in concrete production.
