LLC Irkutskenergoproekt Launched Own Production of Applying Polymer Foam Insulation to Heat Network Pipelines

On April 15, 2011 in Angarsk LLC Irkutskenergoproekt, a subsidiary of EvroSibEnergo-Engineering (a part of the structure of OJSC EvroSibEnergo, the biggest private energy company in Russia, owned by En+ Group) launched own production of applying polymer foam (PF) insulation to heat networks pipelines.

Heat insulation and waterproofing of pipelines in PF (previously known as polymer foam concrete) under VNIPIenergoprom technology was first applied in 1978 at Lenenergo heat networks. Inspections of heat networks’ sections performed in 1990s and 2000s revealed that such units are more ambitious, reliable and durable than other types of insulation.

Steel pipe in PF insulation guarantees trouble-free operation for at least 30 years; it loses not more than 2-3% of heat upon the delivery of heat carrier and doesn’t require system of insulation watering control.

Factory equipment allows isolating pipes with diameter varying from 25 mm to 1000 mm; factory’s production capacity totals more than 100 km of pipes p.a.

OAO Irkutskenergo will be one of the main clients: in 2010 heat networks’ sections were replaced in Angarsk and Irkutsk. Since then the management of OAO Irkutskenergo decided to distribute the positive experience to other branches, located at Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk, Usolie-Sibirskoe and Zheleznogorsk. This summer transmission heat networks in the center of Irkutsk are to be reconstructed (with the utilization of foam insulated pipes).

Presently, LLC Irkutskenergoproekt has orders for supplying pipelines and pipeline components in PF insulation to Irkutsk, Angarsk, Usolie-Sibirskoe in its project portfolio.
