OJSC EvroSibEnergo in International Hydropower Association

OJSC EvroSibEnergo, the largest private energy company in Russia (owned by En+ Group) entered in International Hydropower Association (IHA) as a corporate sponsor. Membership in IHA brings the company to a new international level: OJSC EvroSibEnergo will participate in the development strategy of world hydroelectric energy together with other members of IHA, including China Three Gorges Corporation, EDF, Itaipu Binacional, Hydro-Québec, E.ON and others.

Commentary of Evgeny Fedorov, the CEO of OJSC EvroSibEnergo: “Entering of OJSC EvroSibEnergo in international association is a strategic step of the company driven by global renaissance of hydrogeneration, to which we are witnesses and participants. Currently, HPPs with total capacity of over 100 GW are being constructed all over the world, which is very considerable taking into account 800 GW, put into operation for the last 100 years. This renaissance also means development of new technological solutions and innovations. From this point of view OJSC EvroSibEnergo chose IHA as the most suitable professional site for transferring new modern knowledge and technologies.

OJSC EvroSibEnergo is the largest private energy company in Russia and it is owned by En+ Group. OJSC EvroSibEnergo controls 18 power stations with the total capacity of 19.5 GW. More than 15GW of it are produced by large HPPs of the Angara-Yeniseysk cascade (Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk and Irkutsk HPPs). It also controls the coalfields with the total deposit of 1.2 bln tons, sales and engineering companies. In 2010, the power stations of OJSC EvroSibEnergo produced more than 87 bln kWh, which equals 9% of energy production in Russia.
