Andrey Burenin Became Head of Energy Producers Council

Andrey Burenin, deputy CEO for economy and finance of CJSC Kompleksnye Energeticheskie Sistemy, became the Chairman of supervisory board of Non-commercial partnership “Council of energy producers and strategic investors of energy industry” (NCP “CEP”). This decision was made at the first meeting of Supervisory Board of NCP CEP, elected on Monday at the general meeting in Moscow.
According to Mikhail Slobodin, who had been a head of the partnership’s Supervsory Board for more than 3 years: “More than 40% of work time of Andrey Burenin will be now dedicated to the issues of partnership, which will allow to efficiently solve important industry tasks. At different times Burenin worked as the Chairman of Regional energy committee, was a State Duma deputy, and thus he’ll be able to defend the generators’ position at all the stages of the decision-making process”.
“Plans of the partnership are so wide that they will require the new head to be fully involved in the work aimed at decreasing the risks for investors in Russian energy industry. Unfortunately, Mikhail Slobodin wasn’t able to pay the required attention to his work in CEP due to his transferring to TNK-BP, so we had to make a difficult decision on changing the chairman of supervisory board” — Igor Mironov, the partnership director, explained.
In the following business year the priority tasks of the Council of Energy producers will be: participation in the development of new model of the wholesale market; solution of energy industry modernization and standardization issues; defending the generators’ position during the preparation of environmental policy and preparation of the new edition of the industry tariff agreement.
